About Mark Staples

Mark Staples is a street pop artist from Southampton. He makes paintings, mirror art and sculpture: bright, loud work built from spray paint, lyrics and tags, influenced by artists like Mr Brainwash, Fatboy Slim and Zinsky. His pieces sell to collectors and hang in venues around the city, including Hatch & Barrel in West End.

About this project

Most artist websites are a grid of photos. Mark's work comes from the street, so we built him a room instead. Visitors scroll to walk past each piece under its own spotlight, open any painting up close, and turn the sculptures round as 3D models. The wall behind the work runs on the visitor's clock: it starts clean in the morning and gets tagged through the day, until it's covered by midnight. Behind it all is a simple catalogue of everything Mark has made, sorted by collection, with an enquiry button on every piece. We look after the content, so new work goes up without Mark needing to touch a login.
