SEO services for Southampton businesses

Every monthly package covers the four things that move a small business site, plus one that’s becoming just as important:

On-page SEO

The pages themselves: titles, headings, copy that answers what people actually search for.

Local SEO

Your Google Business Profile, reviews, citations, and ranking in the Southampton map results.

Content

Pages and guides written to catch buyers, not to fill a blog.

Technical SEO

Speed, crawlability, schema, fixing what’s quietly holding the site back.

AI search visibility

Getting your business cited when people ask ChatGPT or Google’s AI who to hire. Standard AI optimisation included in every package. More on AI SEO →

What's not included

Paid ads, email marketing, social media management, or anything we’d have to outsource. If we don’t do it well ourselves, we don’t sell it.

Local SEO in Southampton

We’re based at Farlyn House, Gaters Mill, Southampton, and local SEO here means we’re optimising a map we drive around. Our local SEO services cover your Google Business Profile, review strategy, citations and location pages, for businesses in Southampton and across the UK.

SEO agency for businesses across Southampton

We work with businesses across the city and its edges – Shirley, Portswood, Bitterne, Woolston, Ocean Village, Hedge End and Totton. The approach changes depending on where your customers are: a Shirley trades firm needs to win the map results for its patch, a city-centre consultancy needs Southampton-wide terms, and a business selling beyond the city needs the Hampshire and national work layered on top. We work that out with you before any work starts

Hampshire face-to-face, everywhere else remote.

SEO pricing

We’re rarely the cheapest quote you’ll get. Cheaper monthly SEO usually means automated reporting and someone junior working from a checklist – that’s the difference.

Standard package - £700/month

On-page, local, content and technical SEO, plus AI search visibility, for one business. This is what most clients are on, and it’s enough monthly time to do the work properly rather than tick boxes.

Local SEO starter - £400/month

Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and map-result visibility. It suits businesses whose customers are all within a few miles and whose site is already in decent shape. It upgrades to the standard package when you outgrow it.

Larger scopes - priced on the work

Multi-location businesses, ecommerce, or sites needing heavy content or technical work cost more than the standard package. We scope it and give you a fixed monthly figure before anything starts.

What's included in a monthly SEO package

Every month covers four things: keyword research, work on the site itself, content, and links. The balance between them changes depending on what the site needs.

Keyword research and search intent

We start by working out which searches actually bring in customers, not which ones have the biggest numbers next to them.

Most keyword lists are full of terms nobody buys from. A search like “logo design” is somebody learning what a logo is. “Logo design cost uk” is somebody about to spend money. We go after commercial keywords where the search intent is buying, then work outwards to the questions people ask on the way there.

Website structure and technical work

We fix the things stopping Google reading your site properly, then make sure every page has one job.

That means page speed, mobile, schema, indexing and internal links, but it also means structure. Most sites we take on have three pages competing for the same search and none of them winning. One page per search intent is the single change that moves the most, and it costs nothing but a morning’s thinking.

Content strategy and planning

We write the pages that answer what your customers are actually searching for.

Content planning is decided by the keyword research rather than by what feels worth writing about. Some months that’s a service page, some months it’s a guide answering the question people ask before they enquire. Everything gets written to be read by a person first, because content written for Google reads like content written for Google.

Link building

We build links by earning them, using case studies, local press, suppliers, partners and real directories.

No paid link networks and no private blog networks. Those work until they don’t, and cleaning up after them takes longer than doing it properly would have done. Link work runs every month alongside everything else rather than in a burst at the start.

Who does the work

Future Faced is one person – Daniel Jay Lyle. You work directly with me from the first call. The person who answers your first email is the person writing your pages and reading your Search Console.

When a project needs a specialist – a developer for something unusual, a photographer, a copywriter in a technical field – I bring one in, and the strategy and direction stay with me. You still only have one person to talk to.

If you’d rather have account managers and a wider team behind the invoice, an agency will suit you better, and I’ll tell you that on the first call. Working this way means fewer clients at once and no room to rush anything. That’s the trade, and it’s why the work holds up.

How we approach SEO

Every project starts with understanding where you are and where you need to be. From there we build and execute a strategy designed to compound over time.

Find the opportunities

What your customers search for, what already ranks, and where the commercially valuable gaps are. This is where we decide what’s worth doing before any of it gets done.

Technical issues, indexing, internal linking, page structure and speed. There’s no point building on a site Google struggles to read.

Improve the service pages you have and create pages for searches that can actually generate business – not blog posts for the sake of a content calendar.

Google Business Profile, reviews, citations and the local signals that decide who shows up in the Southampton map results.

Rankings are how we check the work; enquiries and leads are how you judge it. The monthly report leads with the second, not the first.

Highly recommend using Future Faced. I contacted Dan after a website failure from a previous company and Dan work his magic, not only did he assist with fixing everything, but he completely rebuilt our website, and did it so quickly. Most web developers would turn down this type of project- But dan was more than willing to help. We have continued to work with Future Faced on a number of other projects and we haven’t been disappointed. If you are looking for a well presented website that is easy to navigate then Dan is the guy you need.

Technical SEO audits

If you're not ready for a monthly package, we run standalone technical SEO audits for UK businesses: a full crawl of the site, a plain-English report of what's wrong and what it costs you, and a prioritised fix list you can action yourself or hand to us. Ask about an audit when you get in touch.

What changes after six months

More of the right people find you on Google, and more of them get in touch.

That’s the honest version. SEO doesn’t produce a straight line, and the first two months rarely look like anything at all. What it does produce, when it works, is a compounding one: the pages built in month one are still bringing in organic search traffic in month twenty, which is the thing that makes it different from paid ads.

For one client, that was over 4,400 Google clicks in five months. For another, 114% more leads in six months. Both were starting from close to nothing in local search results, which is where most of the businesses we work with start.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we get asked most as an SEO agency in Southampton.

How much does SEO cost in the UK?

Most UK businesses pay between £100 and £2,500 a month for SEO; our packages start from £700/month, with a local-only starter from £400/month. The wide range reflects who’s doing the work and how much of it: at the bottom you get automated tools, at the top you get national campaigns. £700 buys focused monthly work on one business by one experienced person. Full breakdown in our SEO pricing guide.

For the businesses we work with, yes – one client gained 4,400+ Google clicks in five months, another 114% more leads in six. SEO is worth it when the maths works: if a customer is worth hundreds or thousands of pounds to you, a steady stream of them from Google pays for itself many times over. It isn’t worth it if you need leads this week, that’s what ads are for.

Expect the first measurable movement in about three months and meaningful results in six. Local Southampton terms tend to move faster than national ones because there’s less competition. We report monthly from day one, so you see the direction of travel long before the big numbers arrive.

No – and we’d be careful of anyone who says yes. Google’s organic search results aren’t for sale to SEO agencies, so a rankings promise is either a term nobody searches for or a promise that won’t be kept. What we commit to is the work: an agreed monthly plan, done properly, reported honestly.

Yes. Every account is set up in your name from the start, and everything built stays yours.

Google Analytics, Search Console, your Google Business Profile and any tools set up for the site are registered to you rather than to us. If you leave, nothing needs transferring, because nothing was ever held on your behalf. The pages, the content and the links stay where they are and keep working.

It’s worth asking this of anyone you’re considering. Some agencies set up accounts under their own login, which means leaving costs you your historical data as well as the work.

Tell Daniel about your business – a two-minute form or a WhatsApp message, whichever suits. You’ll get a straight answer on whether SEO is right for you, and if it isn’t yet, we’ll say so.

The problem is rarely the business. It's that Google doesn't know it exists yet. That's exactly what we fix.

We don't report on rankings for the sake of it. What we're working towards is straightforward. More of the right people finding you.

Good SEO isn't complicated. It's consistent. The right foundations, the right content, and the patience to let it compound.

Most businesses we work with have tried SEO before. Either nothing happened, they didn't understand what they were paying for, or the agency went quiet after month three.
